The team left Gorak Shep at 11 am and very slowly we made our way to Base Camp. We all felt weary after this morning’s climb up Kala Pattar.
We arrived shortly after 1.30 pm and just in time for lunch. Our camp is perfectly located close to the Khumbu Icefall and well laid out, thanks to our local logistics operator, Dream Himalaya.
After a much appreciated lunch, we settled into Base Camp and then most of the team caught up on some much needed rest in their tents. Sadly some of the team members are having to deal with splitting headaches.
To my dearest youngest daughter Tahlia on this expedition: Very proud of you love. thinking of you and hope that you don’t have too much of a headache. Enjoy the experience and I can’t find words to describe how incredible it feels for me to have you over there…a combination of pride and anxiety! If anyone has the strength and spirit for this experience then it’s you my darling. Can’t wait to hear the story.
